Sword Beach
As the western most landing point in the invasion of Normandy, Sword beach was also the closest to the area's capital city, Caen. Today, many new developments line Sword Beach, but traces of the war still remain.

Juno Beach
On June 6, 1944, 14,000 young Canadians stormed Juno Beach. They faced one of the strongest German defenses of all five Normandy Beaches and still fought deeper into France than any other division. The Juno Beach Centre is located at the landing site and documents this heroic struggle.
