    Juno Beach
    On June 6, 1944, 14,000 young Canadians stormed Juno Beach. They faced one of the strongest German defenses of all five Normandy Beaches and still fought deeper into France than any other division. The Juno Beach Centre is located at the landing site and documents this heroic struggle.

    Utah Beach

    Experience the history of D-Day at this, the most western landing point of the Allied assault on Normandy. Here, American troupes landed and helped defeat the German forces occupying Cherbourg. The Utah Beach Landing Museum and a number of monuments are located along these shores.

    This museum and cultural centre opened on June 6, 2003. A gleaming, metallic structure set before Juno Beach, it is dedicated to documenting the Canadian war effort during the Second World War.

    The Grand Bunker Atlantic Wall Museum

    Located within the old German headquarters in Ouistreham, this towering concrete structure has been fully restored to how it was on June 6, 1944. On June 9, this German stronghold was taken by Allied forces. It is now a museum dedicated to the history of the Atlantic Wall.

    Omaha Beach
    Omaha Beach, or Bloody Omaha as it has come to be known, was the landing site for a large scale US invasion during the D-Day attacks of 1944. The site is still scared by this fierce battle and contains many of the original bunkers and long range guns used by the German defenses.

    Gold Beach
    Gold Beach, the central point of the the Normandy Invasion, was the landing area for a successful British led invasion during the Second World War. Remains of this historic battle still float in the beach's harbour.

    360° Cinema at Arromanches

    Created for the fiftieth anniversary of the landings in Normandy, this unique theatre presents an exceptional film entitled the Price of Freedom. The documentary is shown on nine screens in a circular cinema and mixes unreleased footage with present day shots.

    Hermanville War Cemetery
    Located 13 km (8 mi) north of Caen, this cemetery is the final resting place for over 1,000 soldiers who died at Sword Beach and Caen.

    Sword Beach
    As the western most landing point in the invasion of Normandy, Sword beach was also the closest to the area's capital city, Caen. Today, many new developments line Sword Beach, but traces of the war still remain.

    Pointe du Hoc
    Located between Sainte Mere Eglise and Bayeux, Point du Hoc was once one of the most formidable German Strongholds along the Beaches of Normandy. Standing 30 m (98 ft) above sea level, the point overlooks Omaha Beach to the right and Utah Beach on the left. Visitors are exposed to the perilous mission that rangers faced here in the fight for control.

    Mulberry Harbour
    At Arromanches, the remains of one of the two Mulberry Harbors built during the Normandy invasion can still be seen. This brigade was used to land an unbelievable number of men, tanks and other heavy equipment during the D-Day invasion.
